03:46 pm - Every Fifteen Minutes
PLEASE READ AND RESPOND because this is something I’m passionate about and also something that’s very close to my heart. Many months ago when I was still a senior in high school, I was one of few to participate in a program called “Every Fifteen Minutes” which is put together not only by the school, but also the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).It was developed to help teens understand the importance of not driving under the influence To show how serious a situation like that can get, we simulate a car crash caused by a drunk driver involving students from our very own school. During morning announcements everyone is told that there had been a car crash and all juniors and seniors are to report to the crash sight to witness it. When they arrive they see that ambulances, police officers, and even a coroner are on the scene. A young girl covered in blood (portrayed by me) is pulled out of the totaled car and announced dead. Students watch horrified as she is placed into a body bag and taken away. Then a young boy, also blood-soaked, is pulled out of the vehicle and after brief examination, it is announced that he is still breathing. As quickly as possible, he is rushed to a hospital in an ambulance In the other car is another young boy, not badly injured The police soon discover that he was in fact under the influence while driving, and for that he is arrested. Although it is known by everyone that this is only a simulation, you can bet that it gets very overwhelming. The juniors and seniors report back to class, shocked and some even in tears. The girl who has been killed (me) also returns to the school now dressed in dark makeup and all black. Because she is supposedly a ghost, she is not to interact with anyone all day. All she can do is watch as her friends and teachers mourn for her loss. At the same time, the police show up at the girl’s house to break the news to her family (my parents). They too, know that their child is not really dead, but the thought still has the mother in tears and the father struggling to hold it all in. The next day they will have written an obituary and picked out a casket. Meanwhile, at the hospital where the young boy has been taken, his parents are at his side praying that he will be alright. The medical team do all they can to help him, but alas, their effort is not good enough. The boy’s parents are told that their son is dead. Both the girl and the boy stay in a hotel that night so that their parents may get a feel of what it’d be like to lose their kids. As for the drunk driver, he spends the night in jail and later appears in court to be sentenced. During the next day of school an assembly is held where the “living dead” now dressed in white, the parents, and a family who have indeed lost their kids in a similar incident give speeches about their experiences. Now obviously I can’t remember the other speeches word for word (although I know that each one was extremely emotional), but I do still have mine saved. Due to recent events, I feel the need to share it with everyone who is willing to read… ( Please Continue ) Current Mood: depressed Current Music: Sad music. lots and lots of sad music

01:35 pm - Matchmakers (Ch 6): Where I Belong
Title; Matchmakers Rating: PG-13 Characters: Peter/Claire and a lot more Disclaimer: I do not own Heroes Author’s notes: This takes place after Vol. 3, but Peter does not have that one power at a time thing because I don’t like it! Also, fugitives never happened so forget about it! Thanks to Arinna, Mel, Alex, Lauren, and Beth for letting me use them as characters. You guys rock! If there are some grammar errors in the dialogue , I did it on purpose. I’m not dumb. Sorry if you get confused :D Summary: It’s funny how just one night of love and passion can turn Peter and Claire’s whole world upside down. Claire getting pregnant with her uncle’s baby makes them realize they made a mistake and now they must suffer the consequences. Claire is raising her daughter with the help of her best friend Laura while Peter embarks on a new path in life with his new friends Arinna and Alex. They both struggle without each other and will need all the help they can get to show them that they are truly meant to be.
